Quick Bio
Dr. Kristina Hains is an Associate Professor and Leadership Development Specialist for Extension at the University of Kentucky. As a co-founder of the Community Innovation Lab, she also provides direction for community engagement and leadership development innovations associated with the lab. Dr. Hains’ research interest focuses on leadership and change from a more holistic perspective – with implications at the community or organizational level. More specifically, she has done work in cultural intelligence and development, community engagement and citizenship. To this end, she is a certified facilitator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) that focuses on individual cultural intelligence, and has facilitated this assessment for a variety of individuals and groups. From an outreach perspective, Dr. Hains does extensive work with a variety of cultural groups within the Lexington community, from facilitating stakeholder awareness meetings, to community development activities, to community program evaluation.
