I am interested in connecting with other individuals in the field and learning other aspects of community development that I may not be aware of. Also to bring this type of knowledge base to my students in the classroom.
Quick Bio
Dr. Thomas received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration along with her Masters Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Community and Economic Development from Clark Atlanta University.
Her Doctoral Degree in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy with a concentration in Community Development and Housing was obtained at Texas Southern University.
Teaching Interests: Scope of Public Administration, Public Policy and Politics, Organizational Theory and Bureaucratic Behavior, Principles of Community and Economic Development, Non-Profit Administration, Theory, History, and Practice in Community Development, Sustainable Communities, Citizen Participation in Planning Processes, and U.S. Housing, Planning and Policy.
Research Interests: Transportation Policy, Institutional Capacity, Environmental Justice, The Role/Importance of NGOs/CDCs in Community Development, Citizen Participation/Engagement, Housing Policies and Programs-(U.S. and International), and Historic Preservation.
